This Master´s thesis deals with the topic of optional saving for retirement. The pension schemes of selected European countries and of the Czech Republic are described. Also the current situation and the problems these schemes are facing are analyzed. The thesis focuses on the forthcoming pension scheme reform in the Czech Republic. Further, the possible ways of the complementary pension scheme pillar financing using saving products are analyzed in detail. The objective of the thesis is to design an expert system for optimal saving product selection according to client´s individual requirements.

anglicky Title of the thesis: Old age of yesterday and today : point of view of sociology, economy and philosofy Keywords: Interdisciplinarity, Old age, Development, Population, Pension Abstract: Leaded by interest in the new social phenomenon of the old age, we did a first research, which uncovered a big number of scientific disciplines concerning the topic. So we choosed this interdisciplinarity as the theme of our thesis. The aim of this work was to analyze it from the point of view of sociology, economics, and philosophy. Each of the disciplines was then discussed in one chapter, accompanied by research, in the fourth chapter. We see the contribution of work in diffusion of horizons of older and younger generations, specifically in the notification of the terme "ageism", form of discrimination of senior.

Comparison of pension systems in the Czech Republic and the United States of America

This thesis present an analysis of pension systems in the Czech Republic and the United States of America, according to the status in 2013. The aim is to make comparison of pension schemes based on defined criteria, that are budgetary responsibility, the quality of life for the elderly, social justice, social solidarity, equivalence and financial sustainability of the pension system. Another objective is to compare each pillar of the pension systems and analyze the different elements of the benefits that are provided from mentioned pillars. Theoretical basis include the Welfare State theory, the theory of public finance and the theory of market, state and civic sector and the criterion anchoring of the reform. The research is devoted to the analysis of pension systems ability to provide an adequate income in retirement, what is the real purchasing power of pensioners, whether the pension systems are due to unfavorable demographic development in the future financially sustainable and how the pension system encourages older workers to remain in the labor market.
